Adam Poulos
American Fire & Aviation owner Adam Poulos was born and raised in Montana and has spent his life working in demanding environments where responsibility, reliability, communication, and trust mean everything.
A second-generation pilot, Adam grew up flying alongside his father, a Vietnam War helicopter pilot who later became an aerial firefighting pilot with industry pioneer Hawkins and Powers of Greybull, Wyoming. Adam spent summers in hangars waiting for the next call with his dad, shaping his respect for aviation and his understanding of fire behavior.
Adam began flying in 2003 and has since logged approximately 1,500 flight hours, holding a commercial pilot’s license with multi-engine and instrument ratings. While managing a 34,000-acre ranch near Billings, Montana for more than a decade, Adam became a volunteer firefighter and built on-the-ground experience in fire response, acting as incident command on multiple wildfires.
In 2012, Adam’s father lost his house and everything he owned to wildfire. That loss reinforced the importance of preparedness, reliable equipment, and experienced support, influencing Adam to found American Fire & Aviation in 2023.
Today, Adam provides aviation-enabled support with his twin-engine Cessna 340 to help assist fire departments across his company’s service area. He has combined his passions of firefighting and aviation into a one-of-a-kind model focused on honest communication, long-term relationships, and delivering when departments need support.
